Payment & Refund Policy

SLR Valuations payment policy is for payment in advance.

Where fees exceed $5,000, we require a minimum of 50 percent payment of the fee in advance, with the fee balance to be paid prior to release of the valuation report by the valuer. All other fees are to be paid in advance.

We will only act on a valuation instruction once we have receipt of cleared funds.

Standard Procedures

Upon receipt of cleared funds, the relevant valuer will receive instructions to proceed with valuation request.

The valuer retains the right to accept or decline any valuation request at any time during the valuation process, and for any reason. If the valuer declines the valuation request, you will be notified as soon as possible, and will receive a full refund of the valuation fee.

Our valuers aim to carry out valuations in a professional and timely manner. The valuer will commence a pre-valuation process, including file and report preparation, preliminary investigations, booking a valuation inspection, sales preparation etc.

Valuation inspections generally include property siting, an internal and external physical inspection, and sales inspections.  Also included are physical property descriptions and measurements by the valuer.

For standard residential property, the physical inspection is normally carried out at the earliest or agreed time.  For tenanted properties, access is generally arranged through a real estate property manager where there is a legal minimum 24 hours’ notice requirement prior to entry.

For standard residential property, valuation reports are usually completed within 1 to 3 business days from the date of inspection. For all other properties, please enquire about expected turnaround times for valuation reports before proceeding.

Payment Terms

Unless otherwise agreed, the person instructing the valuation (“you”) are responsible for payment of the valuation fee.

Where our valuation fee is less than $5,000, we require payment of the valuation fee in advance. Where our valuation fee exceeds $5,000, we require a minimum of 50 percent payment of the valuation fee in advance, with the fee balance to be paid prior to release of the valuation report by the valuer.

Following receipt of your confirmation to proceed with the valuation request, and acceptance of the valuation fee quote in writing (normally by reply email), the request will be processed and assigned a job identification number. A tax invoice will be prepared and emailed to you for payment.

You can make payment of valuation fees by direct bank transfer, cheque and credit card over the phone.  Payment options are listed on our tax invoices.

Following receipt of payment, the relevant valuer will commence the valuation process. The valuer will contact you directly in respect to any further information they may require, arranging access, and progress updates of the valuation report.  The valuer will email you the valuation report and paid tax invoice once completed.
